Faced with a downturn in business, Japanese salarymen are left with less to do at work.  Some are visiting their gym, some are actually eating dinners with their family (!), and some are writing poetry---senru, to be exact (think haiku; the two forms are somewhat related).  Business Week magazine asked me to illustrate the story and what could be better for combining image and calligraphy?  For more editorial illustrations visit our website: warddraw.com.
