My japanese friends at G8 Creation gallery in Tokyo have recently sent me the fan i designed and they had manufactured in the traditional way. Cloth and bamboo. There were about 300 fans in all in the exhibition. I made a block print and then scanned in the images and placed them around. I Put the image on a disk and sent it and 3 months later they sent me half a dozen.

this was a monster drawing fest held at the verdi club in san francisco 3 weeks ago (i think?) ... many fine artists (and some not so fine) drawing and then putting them up on the wall and selling to promote southern exposure gallery in sf ... very fun and they served beer as well. I thought that everyone was going to be drawing monsters which i was very excited about ... turned out not to be that way ... but very fun anyways.

This image was done for LA Magazine's movie page. "The Hoax", starring Richard Gere explores the life of author Clifford Irving. Irving convinced McGraw-Hill that he was writing an authorized autobiography of Howard Hughes. It turned out to be an eloborate hoax. This image is a portrait of Howard Hughes made from Irving's book.
