My recent show at Meridian Gallery got picked up by UC Berkeley's Townsend Center for Humanities. A conference center featuring such speakers as Hilton Als and Greil Marcus, the Townsend Center has shown artists like Squeak Carnwath and Katherine Sherwood. The fourteen paintings on paper and ten hand-painted books which make up the show will be on display until the end of May. For a review of the show as it appeared at Meridian, visit the Kala blogsite.

This is one in a series of illustrations that won a silver lion at the Cannes Advertisiing awards last year. They were made in an effort to recruit new police officers for the El Segundo Police Department in LA.

I was invited to contribute an image for "FEFE" - Free Entry Free Exit , a visual arts magazine based in Rome, Italy. It showcases graphic design, Illustration, Photo, and visual art from around the world. Each issue deals with a different theme - a phrase from a movie with 25 diverse artists creating a visual based on the phrase, the phrase I had to work with; IT WASN'T PLANNED, from the movie "Intimate Strangers" by P.Leconte.
My artist statement that accompanied my image:
"The plan was to have some fun together, but it wasn't planned when she started breaking my balls.
Italian Translation:
"Il piano era di divertici insieme, ma non era in programma che lei iniziasse a rompermi le palle."

Last month, I got a call from Burke Owens at Bonny Doon Vineyard to create art for a new dessert wine they're introducing called Angel Paille, or Angel Pie: a sweet wine made from Grenache Blanc grapes, which are picked ripe and then dried on mats in the vineyard before pressing. The wine was described to me as "lush, with a pale gold color and sweet pear, quince and spearmint aromas", and the vineyard where the grapes were grown is named Beehive. The rest was as easy as pie.
