Calligraphy has become a big part of my work. Standing alone or joined with an image. It began when I did a couple books for The Yolla Bolly Press: Two Kitchens in Provence by MFK Fisher, and Paris France by Gertrude Stein. Burst Longing was something I did for the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players. To me, it becomes illustration. I've also been doing personal work in the form of hand-painted books, many with cut paper or stenciled content.
